The Production of a Giclee Print
The process consists of using hi-resolution digital cameras
to photograph the original painting in a purpose built art studio. Each image
captured is scrutinised and in most cases under the supervision of the artist to
ensure a close reproduction of the original is achieved.
The giclee method (pronounced "zhee-clay" is
French for "squirt" or "spray".) is to spray small droplets
of ultra chromatic inks onto a variety of substrates ranging from fine art papers
to canvas. All prints have been tested for light fastness and UV light and will
last up to 75 years. Each print is approved, signed and numbered by the artist
and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Iain Faulkner
Iain Faulkner was born in Glasgow in 1973 where he was raised and educated.
He graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996 with a BA (Honours)Degree in Fine Art. From the
onset of his professional career, the fashionable and trendy routes of contemporary and conceptual
art, adopted by many of his peers, was not an option. He chose instead to follow the more difficult
and demanding path of figurative painting wherein clear, concise yardsticks of competence,
draughtsmanship and painterly skills can be measured and judged, warts and all.

James McNaught
Born in Glasgow in 1948, James is the only son of parents who worked as
carpet designers at Templeton’s Carpet Factory in Glasgow. His earliest memory of a painting
is by Picasso of a lady whom he firmly believed to be his mother. James enjoyed drawing and
painting at school but not much else and in 1966, without any formal qualifications, he was accepted
unconditionally at Glasgow School of Art, where he stayed until 1970, and where, he says he would
have been happy to stay for the rest of his life.

James works full time as art teacher in a
Catholic boys school, which he finds difficult as it does not allow him enough time to paint. He
began exhibiting with Portal Gallery in 1978. He has also exhibited in Amsterdam and in Munich. His
work is in significant private collections in Australia, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia
and the U.S.A and he has twenty paintings in a collection in Costa Rica.
