Since its memorable opening event in May 2006, the Sun Gallery has continued to develop a diverse and loyal clientele. Residents of the town and surrounding area are treated to an impressive range of creative work by their friends and neighbours, many depicting familiar parts of the local landscape. Visitors from further afield will find a carefully chosen and eclectic mix of Scottish art appealing to all tastes, such as Jennifer Reid's sensitive studies of the ever changing Tay, also Robert Spingham's bold and eloquent canvases, and Jackie Gardiner's beautifully executed landscapes and seascapes.

Tim Davies' tactile and organic furniture; Eilidh Mackenzie's gloriously imaginative fused glass panels David MacGregor's vibrant and elegant ceramics and his brother Martin's solid, exquisitely functional jewellery are just a few indications of the powerful creative spirit alive among us here. Rather than following the more usual template of staging themed exhibitions at regular intervals,
Sun Gallery has adopted a successful formula of on going rotation. This ensures that on every visit there will always be more of the familiar but always spiced with something new.
Sun Gallery is not shy of innovation, adventure or even the outrageous in it's quest to show the essence of Scottish creativity. Nick is passionate about exhibiting the very best of Scottish arts and crafts in Sun Gallery, and is always happy to answer questions about the artists and the techniques they use in the creation of their art, and of course what inspires them also. |
