The Gallery opened in beginning of May 2006 and is the latest addition to the attractions
and cultural life of Newburgh. The premises were for many years the town draper’s shop
and latterly a carpet shop. Up until the opening of the gallery, this impressive property
on the High Street had stood empty for more than 5 years. The shop, now painstakingly and
imaginatively restored has reincarnated as the “
Sun Gallery .”

NICK MOSS
Born in London to Scottish parents from Fife, Nick started
his working life as an illustrator in an advertising studio. He was soon caught up in the
Kings Road, Carnaby Street scene and moved into the fashion business.
Nick always had family ties with Newburgh and spent many holidays
here from childhood on, and in 1990 he moved permanently to Fife. He opened shops in Perth, St Andrews
and Edinburgh, which he ran successfully for many years.
Sun Gallery is the realization
of Nick’s vision.
He first spotted the shop years ago and always believed it could be a perfect space for a gallery.
“I have always been passionate about art and wanted to offer a showcase for
the rich creativity and talent in the local area and throughout Scotland. Newburgh is a
beautiful town and ideally placed, I could not imagine a better place to live out my dream.”
